The Paintings - Information
Giclee Paintings
‘Giclee’ is pronounced ‘zhee-clay’ which is a French word to describe the technology involved in replicating a direct copy
onto canvas of the painted original as a high resolution copy.
My giclees are museum quality works done in
archival inks on top quality canvas and can
be ordered on a stretched frame or tube rolled. This high quality format is
quite difficult to tell from the original and
it is interesting to note that museums and galleries around the world use giclees of many famous works to display to the public
because of the value, fragility and security involved in the showing of some originals. These
giclees are protected with a unique finishing spray protecting the ink and
surface from damage.
In order for these paintings to be enjoyed by as many people as possible,
I prefer to supply giclees instead of the original painting as these works
are such a high standard. It also means that much more care and attention
can be taken with the original as the artist can concentrate solely on the
quality.
I hope that my artworks will bring back fond memories for these drivers and their achievements. Most of these famous men lost
their lives pursuing their passion for motor racing. I survived two horrific accidents on the race track and hope my passion for
the sport is reflected in my works offered on this site.
All my works have a copyright held under intellectual property rights and law and may not be copied or used or transmitted in
any format without the prior written permission of the artist.
These giclees will be reproduced to order
